Job Description:

The Scrum Master / Project Manager will lead multi-functional project teams through the planning and delivery of valuable technical products supporting a modernization effort. This position helps team members realize their maximum potential by removing obstacles and empowering the team to deliver.

Required Skills:

  •  Collaborate with customer to determine project scope, goals, and expectations.
  • Ensure project team is aware of goals, expectations, and priorities and are aligned effectively.
  • Identify and manage risks and issues to mitigate negative impacts to project delivery.
  • Create and deliver effective and comprehensive status reports.
  • Serve as a Scrum Master for one or more Agile teams including analysts, developers, testers, and architects.
  • Ensure Agile development principles are effectively utilized by the team.
  • Collaborate with the Product Owner to ensure that the prioritization and business value of all stories is fully understood, and works with the team to create solid, well defined user stories.
  • Facilitate Agile ceremonies such as daily sprint stand-ups, grooming, planning, review, and retrospectives.
  • Facilitate discussion, decision making, and conflict resolution.
  • Build a culture of trust with stakeholders and within the agile team.

Preferred Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • 9+ years of practical experience leading project teams through all phases of the delivery lifecycle.
  • Scrum Alliance certification (CSM, CSP, CSPO) or PMP preferred
  • A strong and deep understanding of the IT delivery lifecycle.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with leadership, stakeholders, customers, and project team members.
  • Excellent and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to influence, negotiate and resolve conflict.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, including proven ability to communicate and explain complex issues in clear, concise and persuasive language.
  • Ability to maintain a positive attitude while working under pressure.
